Cal Poly Pomona volleyball started their season as a part of the SpringHill Suites Invitational hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage. In the invitational, the Broncos played a total of four matches against Azusa Pacific, Alaska Anchorage, #23 Rockhurst, and #5 Nebraska Kearney. It was a bit of a rough start for CPP though as they earned just one win against local rivals, the APU Cougars.
In the invitational, Zoe Herrera proved to be the standout defensive player among all five teams in participation. She tallied a total of 79 digs in the four matches, a full 14 more than the nearest competitor. For her performance she earned a place on the All-Tournament Team, the lone Bronco to do so. She also added a pair of service aces to her resume.
