Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Mark Huizar led the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos in the UC Riverside Invitational. The junior ran to a fourth place overall finish, enabling the Green and Gold to finish third among the 23 schools in competition. Huizar’s finish allows the CPP team to finish first among fellow Division II competitors.

He finished less than 30 seconds behind the first place finisher, less than 20 behind the second place finisher, and a mere five seconds behind the third place runner. Huizar and the men’s cross-country team have earned a preseason ranking of No. 10 nationally.
