Christian Gonzalez Diaz provided the Broncos with the performance of a season this past weekend. The Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team won both matches this weekend by a final score of 5-0. First, on Thursday, they topped Humboldt State 5-0, then on Saturday blanked the Seawolves of Sonoma State with the same score.
Gonzalez Diaz recorded two goals in Thursday's contest, including the first goal which was the only one needed to secure the win. Then on Saturday he secured the first hat trick of his career at CPP. He scored the second, fourth, and fifth goal of the game in the Green and Gold's Senior Day matchup against SSU. His final goal came with just 35 seconds left on the clock. With his hat trick, the Mission Viejo native moved into first place in the conference with 11 goals during the regular season.
