Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Max Bethell secured the save on Friday night as the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos topped the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes 8-2. 

In his four-inning performance, Bethell secured a stellar 11 strikeouts, including his final eight straight batters faced. After the first out was recorded in the top half of the sixth inning via bunt, every other out Bethell recorded was a strikeout. 

The senior allowed just a single hit in the contest and allowed zero earned runs to score. The save was his first of the season. Bethell is one of the nationally-ranked Broncos' team captains.
