Max Bethell, one of the Broncos' captains, turned in a stellar performance from the mound against the Cal State East Bay Pioneers. In the series opener, the senior dealt for 8.1 scoreless innings. His performance secured him the win as the Broncos offense posted five runs of support for him. 

The Garden Grove native allowed just five hits, only one of which was an extra base knock. He limited opposing batters to a .172 average as he struck out three and walked just two. 

His showing lowered his earned run average on the season to a 2.38, helping the Broncos' staff remain at the helm of the conference in the category.
