Broncos stopped at No. 3 UC San Diego

– Third-ranked UC San Diego swept Cal Poly Pomona 25-18, 25-11, 25-21 to win its 10th consecutive match on Friday night in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.

The Broncos, who play Saturday night at CSU East Bay, are 8-11 and 5-7 CCAA.

UCSD improved to 19-1, 11-1.

CPP was led by junior Courtney Alberi and Kristin McNeese (Torrance), with six kills each. The Castaic native had just one attack error on the night, while McNeese had two digs and one block assist.

Junior Kellie Hall had five kills and freshman Lindsey Poulos and senior Elizabeth Diaz each had four.

Hall and senior Jasmine Davis had three block assists apiece.

The Tritons were led by Katie Condon with 12 kills and Sylvia Schmidt who added 11 kills. The Tritons outhit the Broncos .280 - .102.

UCSD swept CPP for the second time this season and fourth straight in two years.
