POMONA – A pair of first-half goals from Sonoma State held up, but not before a flurry of activity from the host Cal Poly Pomona Broncos in the game's final 45 minutes as the Seawolves earned the victory 3-1 on a day where temperatures in Southern California reached triple digits.
The Broncos, who are now 2-4-0 overall and 0-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association look to snap their four-game losing streak Sunday when they play host to Humboldt State. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
The Seawolves got on the scoreboard in the 29th minute on Trevor Hurst's goal. He broke out front and close and then fired it past Broncos goalkeeper Brad Jones.
