SEASIDE -- Sophomore Dwayne Fells' free throw with one second left gave visiting Cal Poly Pomona a thrilling 52-51 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay in California Collegiate Athletic Association play Saturday night.

The Broncos improved to 9-5 overall and 7-4 in the CCAA as the first half of league play came to a close. The Otters dropped to 5-11, 3-8.

Leading 51-47 with 31 seconds left, the Broncos saw the Otters tie the game at 51-51 with six seconds after four straight free throws from Davion Berry. After a Broncos' timeout, the Otters fouled Fells with just one second left.

The Fullerton native missed the first, but hit the second for the game-winner. Keith Wilson's shot at the horn was off and the Broncos earned a weekend road sweep after Friday night's victory at San Francisco State.

Austin Swift scored a game and season-high 22 points for CPP. No other Bronco reached double figures.

Berry led the Otters with 16.

The Broncos next play at UC San Diego on Thursday night.
