San Bernardino – It was one of those soccer games. The Broncos outshot the Coyotes fifteen to eleven. The Broncos had more shots on goal than the Coyotes nine to five, but in the end, it was only one shot that mattered – an overtime “golden goal” by CSUSB's Obi Agwu at the 93:31 mark of the first overtime that was the game winner as CSUSB defeated the Broncos 1-0. “It was a battle of two very good teams,” said head coach Lance Thompson. “In the end, one goal was the difference.”
The Broncos are now 7-5-1 on the season and 5-5-1 in the CCAA. As CSUSB is the regular season travel partner for the Broncos, the two teams will match up again on Sunday at Kellogg Stadium in the finale of a home-home series. Game time is 5:30 p.m. – which is a change from the original schedule. Due to a previously scheduled University event, parking will be limited and your early arrival is encouraged.
