POMONA, Calif. – If anyone said that volleyball isn't a game of momentum, they missed a lesson on display in Darlene May Gym on Saturday night.

Chico State jumped out to an early two game lead and seemingly had game three in hand. However, two well-timed kills by Jessica Doerner helped turn the tide. The Broncos continued to ride the hot hand of Sinead Palmer through game four. After the Wildcats built a 12-9 lead in game five, the Broncos reeled off six straight unanswered points, the last three points being service aces by Lindsey Poulos to capture the match (20-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-17 and 15-12).

Makenzie Fahnestock and Alex Shurtz led Chico State in hitting, while Sable Villaescusa recorded 54 assists. Palmer and Doerner lead the comeback for the Broncos who are now 5-9 overall and 3-6 in the CCAA. Chico State is 8-7 overall and 3-6 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona travels to CSU East Bay on Friday, while Chico State host San Francisco State.
