HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's volleyball team stunned Cal State East Bay Friday night in dramatic fashion, as the Broncos handed the Pioneers their first home loss of the 2010 season. The seesaw battle ended 25-23, 19-25, 26-24, 25-19.
Four CPP players recorded double-digit totals in kills, with Kristin McNeese leading the way with 14. Lindsey Poulous hit at a team-high .280 clip, as her, Jessica Doerner and Diana Lake recorded 10 kills apiece.
The Broncos improve to 6-9 overall and 4-6 within the California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Pioneers fall to 11-4 overall and 6-4 in league play.
The win marks the second-straight for CPP, a squad that will travel to play UC San Diego on Saturday at 7 p.m. On Friday, the Broncos were led in assists by Katie Colin (28) while Lake paced the squad in digs (15).
For Lake, Friday marked the third-consecutive match in which she has posted double-digits in kills.
