Broncos run away from Sonoma State in 55-31 win

CPP, now 17-5, 14-4, faces CSULA on Friday night

--- Cal Poly Pomona held Sonoma State to just nine second-half points and the Broncos rolled past the host Seawolves 55-31 in California Collegiate Athletic Association women's basketall Saturday night.

Junior Reyana Colson scored 17 points with 10 rebounds for her 14th career double-double and senior Stephisha Walton added 11 points as CPP improved to 17-5 overall and 14-4 in the CCAA.

It was a big win for all those involved. Head Coach Scott Davis earned his first victory at his alma mater since taking over the Bronco program in 2007-08. Colson became the 16th leading scorer in school history with 1,154 points and CPP has now earned its most victories in a season since 2004-05 when it went 20-8.

The Broncos pressured SSU (10-13, 8-10) to just three field goals in the final 20 minutes for a FG percentage of 10.3 percent (3-of-29).

CPP returns to the court Friday night when it plays at Cal State L.A. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

The victory was CPP's first in Rohnert Park since winning 72-69 in 2004-05.
