CHICO -- Senior Nick Tanos' 2-run home run gave the Broncos an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but No. 14 Chico State went on to rout CPP, 22-4 in the teams' opening game of their CCAA series Friday night.

CPP, now 11-7 overall, 5-4 CCAA, and the Wildcats play a doubleheader Saturday that begins at 12 p.m.

Senior Richard McDowell and junior Michael Neff each had two hits, while Tyson Edwards and Marcus Makia had the Broncos' only other extra-base hits with a double apiece.
