TURLOCK -- Cal Poly Pomona opened the 2010 season by not allowing a goal through five games -- a record-setting span of 475 minutes.
But just three minutes into Sunday's game, the host Cal State Stanislaus Warriors ended that streak and later went on to defeat the Broncos 2-1 in CCAA women's play.
CPP, 4-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in CCAA play, now get ready to play host to Cal State Los Angeles on Friday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday.
The Broncos were going for their school-record sixth straight shutout, but the Warriors' Alexia Poon dismissed that opportunity just three minutes into the game.
The game remained 1-0 through halftime, but Broncos' junior
Valerie Strawn tied the game just 16 seconds into the second half.
Callie Wilson assisted on the goal and the Broncos and Warriors were tied at 1-apiece.
Karenee Demery then scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute on a feed from Tiffany Martin. It was Demery's ninth goal of the season for the Warriors, now 5-1, 3-1.
