POMONA -- One hundred plus was the theme of the day. With game time temperatures above 100 degrees, it took more than 100 minutes for a goal to be scored. In the end, CSU Dominguez Hills won on a goal by Scott Locken with an assist from Diego Turoldo at the 100:20 mark of double overtime.
Both teams had chances to score during the contest, but both goalkeepers (CSUDH – Markus Dickerson and CPP – Andrew Todd) were stellar in defense of their net. In the end, CSUDH scored the golden goal on a low screaming shot that hit the back of the net in the lower left corner.
Cal Poly Pomona is now 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the CCAA. CSU Dominguez Hills moves to 5-1-2 and 4-1-1 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona plays at CSU East Bay on Friday, while CSUDH is at Chico State.
