Distance Carnival Results
SAN FRANCISCO – The distance group of the Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field team posted several marks Friday at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
In the 5,000-meter race, Ryan Carrell led the Broncos with a 14:36.20 mark, falling less than two seconds off a provisional national qualifier (PNQ) time. Next in line for CPP in that race was Gustavo Cruz at 15:23.25 and Scott McMichael at 15:25.50.
Jersain Torres also came close to notching a PNQ mark in the 10,000-meter race, placing fourth with a time of 31:08.80. That fell just 28 seconds off the qualifying time.
The rest of the Broncos' track and field squad will be in action Saturday at the Cal-Nevada Invitational held in Claremont.
