SAN FRANCISCO -
The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team captured a 6-2 victory Sunday at San Francisco State, lifting the Broncos to their second-straight series win.

The Broncos improve to 23-12 overall and 16-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Gators fall to 12-23 overall and 7-21 through conference play.

Left-handed starter Ryan Dunn earned the victory for CPP and raises his record to 4-0. He went five innings and struck out a career-high six strikeouts. Relievers Michael Parker and Geoff Broussard closed out the contest strong, combining for four innings of one-run ball.

Stephen Gonzalez starred at the plate, tallying a season-high three hits. Travis Taijeron reached base in all five of his plate appearances, while Jordan Whitman and Mike Santora raised their hit streaks to 15 and 14 games respectively.

The Broncos' attack got going early on Sunday, as they opened the contest with four-straight singles. Taijeron and Ryan Goodman came through with the two runs batted in during that frame. Taijeron picked up another RBI in the second when he singled to score Gonzalez.

CPP totaled 14 hits on the afternoon, while the Bronco pitchers held the Gators to just five. The CPP pitching staff maintained a 1.91 earned run average through the series with SFSU, including just two earned runs in 9.1 innings from the bullpen.

Up next for the Broncos will be a four-game series with Cal State San Bernardino. The Coyotes will host CPP on Thursday and Friday before the two squads play a doubleheader Saturday at Scolinos Field starting at 11 a.m.
