CHICO, Calif. – Four Broncos scored in double figures Friday, as the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team recorded one of its best offensive performances of the season and secured a 83-74 road win at Chico State.

The Broncos shot 48 percent from the floor, including a 7-for-14 effort from beyond the arc. The field goal percentage of 48 ranks as the best for CPP this season against a conference opponent. The 83 points matches the highest total for the Broncos during the current 2011-12 campaign.

"It was great to see our shooters perform as well as they did," CPP head coach Danelle Bishop said. "We've talked as a team about how that can take pressure of our inside game. We certainly had a lot of fun tonight out there and we hope it carries over into tomorrow's game as well."

The result pushes the Broncos' marks to 14-5 overall and 10-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), while the Wildcats fall to 11-8 overall and 8-7 through league play. The all-time series between the two squads is now tied 19-19.

The Broncos now stand alone in fourth place in the CCAA standings, trailing UC San Diego (15-0), Cal State Monterey Bay (11-3) and Cal State L.A. (11-4).

Senior center Megan Ford led the way Friday for the Broncos, registering her 10th double-double performance of the year with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Teammate Sarah Semenero, who knocked down nine of her 10 free throw attempts, matched Ford in terms of points with 21. As a team, CPP made 28 of its 36 chances at the line.

Joining that pair with double-digit point totals were Ariel Marsh and J.J. Judge, who finished at respective amounts of 15 and 14.

The Broncos opened up a 16-5 lead less than seven minutes into Friday's game, with a Semenero three-pointer capping off that early run. The host CSUC squad battled back though, trimming the CPP edge to two points later in the half. The score at the break settled at 38-30 in favor of the Broncos.

The Wildcats found momentum early in the closing period, rattling off an 11-0 run behind the strong play of Synchro Bull. That spurt gave CSUC a 43-42 advantage at the 13:48 mark.

CPP countered right back, as Ford tossed in a layup to return the lead to the visitors. The Broncos also picked up its three-point shooting, putting together a 20-6 run between the 12:11 and 7:14 marks that featured long-distance connections from Judge, Marsh and Semenero.

Strong free-throw shooting by CPP helped the visitors hold off any potential rallies from the Wildcats, leaving the Broncos with their 10th conference victory of the year. Starring defensively Friday for the Broncos were Charlene Popoff and Jennifer Bryant, who totaled four steals each.

Up next for CPP will be a 5:30 p.m. Saturday matchup at Cal State Stanislaus.
