Through the 90 minutes of action Friday, the Broncos outshot the Otters 17-13. The visitors put eight shots on goal though as compared to CPP's seven.

Monterey Bay got on the board at the 27:01 mark when Juan Montellano capitalized on a rebound chance from about eight yards out. Broncos' goalkeeper Andrew Todd made a spectacular close-range save on the initial attempt by Anthony Velazquez.

CPP got the equalizer in the 35th minute after passes from Abiel Coronado and Jeremy Totays led to a breakaway opportunity for Garcia. With the Otters' goalkeeper charging, Garcia patiently dribbled around and shot the ball calmly across the line to tie the score at 1-1.

Perez took over from there though in the 40th and 71st minutes to lead Monterey Bay to victory. The first of his goals was a volley from about 16 yards away to the left side of the net. His second score came off a rebound attempt after his first shot was cleared at the line by a CPP player.
