TURLOCK, Calif. -
The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team entered Saturday's doubleheader at Cal State Stanislaus with red-hot bats from a 17-2 win Friday and the Broncos continued their efforts Saturday, earning 11 runs on 25 hits for a pair of wins.

Outstanding pitching performances by Kevin Bosson and Ryan Dunn allowed the Broncos to move their marks to 21-15 overall and 14-13 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

The Broncos will aim for the four-game sweep of the hosting Warriors Sunday in Turlock, Calif., with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.

Game 1 Box Score | Broncos 7, Warriors 3

The CPP staff ace Kevin Bosson threw a strong 8.2 innings in game one as he led CPP to a 7-3 victory over the Warriors. Bosson earned his eighth win of the season, landing himself on top of the CCAA in that category.

Freshman righthander Cody Ponce closed out the game earning his sixth save of the season to match the school's single season saves record set by Sean Hunter in 2007.

Bosson allowed one unearned run in the first inning before cruising through the game until the bottom of the ninth before Ponce shut the door.

The Broncos' offense was led by an impressive leadoff effort of junior infielder Trevor Magno, who had two hits, two runs batted in and three sacrifice hits that allowed the big bats of the Broncos to capitalize.

CPP was stuck in a 1-1 tie going into the top of the sixth inning when the team's offense broke out for six runs in the last four frames of the game.

Game 2 Box Score | Broncos 4, Warriors 0

In the seven-inning contest of the doubleheader, senior lefthander Ryan Dunn threw a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits and one walk with four strikeouts while further establishing the Broncos' pitching dominance over the Warriors.

The Chino Hill native started the game with a comfortable two-run lead in the first and proved he only needed one.

The Broncos' hitters in the No. 1 through No. 4 lineup spots collected eight of the 11 hits in the contest and drove in all four runs.

Freshman third baseman Jason Padlo went 3-for-3 while senior centerfielder Jordan Whitman collected three hits of his own. Junior first baseman Bo Walter continued his CCAA leading hitting as he collected two more hits.
