Box Score | SAN FRANCISCO – In what has developed as a winning routine on the road this weekend, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team kept Saturday's game close until halftime and then put together a strong second-half performance to capture a 62-52 victory over San Francisco State.

The result keeps the Broncos undefeated on the road in conference play this season. It also sustains the first-place tie between CPP and Cal State San Bernardino with both squads at 16-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Four regular season games remain, starting with Thursday's Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night at Kellogg Gym and continuing with Senior Night Saturday. The Broncos will host Cal State Dominguez Hills (4-14) and fourth-place Cal State L.A. (10-8) in those contests.

Despite CPP getting outrebounded 44-34 Saturday in San Francisco, sophomore forward Jordan Faison played tough in the post and recorded his second career double-double effort with 12 boards and 10 points.

Three other Broncos finished in double figures, including Daniel Rodriguez with a team-high 12 points while Barry Bell and DeRonn Scott added 10 apiece. Bell helped get his teammates involved in the offense as he totaled seven assists to match his career best.

CPP actually shot better from the field than it did at the throw line. Bell and Chad Haysbert proved to be the most efficient from the floor, posting matching 4-for-6 efforts.

A three-pointer from Quentin Taylor at the 13:10 mark gave the Broncos an 11-5 first-half lead but the Gators climbed back to tie the score on a few occasions before CPP took a 23-22 lead into intermission.

The Broncos shot 61 percent in the second half to widen the gap over SFSU. CPP knocked down four three-pointers through the final 20 minutes and Rodriguez scored 10 of his 12 points in that span of time.

A Scott jumper pushed the Broncos' advantage into double digits at the eight-minute mark and it stayed at that distance for most of the contest's remaining portion.

Will Overton Jr. led the Gators in scoring with 19 points while the CPP defense limited Nefi Perdomo - the No. 2 scorer in the CCAA - to just 11 points.

Up next for the Broncos will be the 7:30 p.m. home game Thursday against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
