Box Score | POMONA, Calif. – In an epic overtime matchup witnessed by 2,275 fans, the 16th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team earned a 75-70 overtime win over Cal State East Bay Saturday to avenge a loss to the Pioneers earlier in the season.

The tremendous Homecoming crowd produced the largest attendance for a Broncos' women's basketball game in 24 years. In a 1990 game against Delta State, 2,434 fans packed Kellogg Gym.

The CPP squad showed plenty of resiliency Saturday and the crowd certainly showed their appreciation, rising to their feet time and time again. The Broncos won the rebounding battle, 49-41, as Jada Blackwell recorded another double-double effort of 14 points and 13 rebounds.

CPP led 61-59 in the final moments of regulation but the Pioneers' Stephanie Lopez dropped in a layup to tie the score and push the contest into overtime. The visiting CSUEB team scored the first five points of the extra period but the Broncos kept their composure.

CPP outscored the Pioneers 14-9 in overtime and amazingly enough, all 14 of the Broncos' points came on free throws. Tyler Woods knocked down five attempts and Ariel Marsh added four of her own. Marsh finished with a team-high 21 points in 44 minutes played.

At 17-3 overall and 14-2 in conference play, the Broncos continue to hold a three-game lead atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings. Marsh and Blackwell continue to rank as the No. 1 and No. 2 scorers in the league respectively.

Saturday's game required top performances from both those CPP stars as the Broncos and Pioneers had seven lead changes. CPP opened up a 10-point lead late in the second half but East Bay rallied to close the gap and eventually even the score in the waning moments.

Ultimately though it would be the Broncos prevailing for the five-point overtime victory with the raucous crowd supporting them every step of the way.

CPP will return to action on Friday with a 5:30 p.m. game at Sonoma State.
