Jada Blackwell Selected to D-II All-Tournament Team

Jada Blackwell is the 19th Bronco in school history to earn a spot on the Division II All-Tournament Team.
ERIE, Calif. - At the conclusion of Friday's national title game between Bentley and West Texas A&M, officials announced the Division II All-Tournament Team and Cal Poly Pomona's Jada Blackwell earned selection as one of the five honorees.

A junior center from Rancho Cucamonaga, Blackwell is the 19th Bronco in school history to receive the All-Tournament Team recognition and the first since Lauri McIntosh and Aprile Powell earned selection in 2002.

At the Elite Eight in Erie, Blackwell scored a season-high 35 points in CPP's quarterfinal win over Edinboro and then contributed 22 points in the semifinal loss to eventual national champion Bentley.

Through this year's NCAA postseason, Blackwell totaled 135 points. That left her just 15 shy of breaking the all-time Division II record for tournament scoring. Blackwell racked up 620 points in the entire 2013-14 campaign, putting her at No. 5 in Broncos' history on the single-season leaderboard.

In early March, Blackwell was selected as the Daktronics West Region Player of the Year. From there, she went on to receive Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America First Team honors.

Blackwell and the Broncos finished the year at 26-7 overall, capturing the West Region title at Kellogg Gym on March 17 and then advancing into the Final Four before the season-ending loss to Bentley.

Most Outstanding Player – Jackie Brugliera (Bentley)
Jada Blackwell (Cal Poly Pomona)
Courtney Finn (Bentley)
Lauren Battista (Bentley)
