POMONA, Calif. - With a four-game win streak on the line, the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team takes to the road to challenge Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Heading into the matchup, the teams both hold a 7-1 mark in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Toros have played four more games than CPP and hold an overall tally of 12-4. The Broncos have earned a 9-3 mark thus far in 2014-15.
CPP will head to Dominguez Hills after a successful weekend at Kellogg Gym in which it defeated the San Francisco State and Sonoma State. Friday's win over the Gators featured a final result of 80-43. Saturday's game versus Sonoma ended with the Broncos walking away with an 80-56 victory.
The last time the Toros and Broncos faced off was in the CCAA Championships in March of last season. Dominguez Hills bested CPP 65-61 to secure the tournament title.
In both of the 2013-14 regular season games, the Broncos defeated the Toros. With the 2-1 mark in CPP's favor last season, the all-time series is 61-14 with a Bronco advantage.

Jada Blackwell,
Ariel Marsh, and
Ashley Lovett each have earned a spot on the CCAA Offensive Leaderboards. Blackwell has a 43.8 three-point percentage while registering 19.3 points per game, placing her at No. 1 in the conference for both categories. Marsh sits just a couple spots behind her and averages 17.6 per game, placing her at third.
Lovett's rebounding average of 8.2 ranks fifth in the CCAA and her 57.4 field-goal percentage has earned her the No. 3 spot.
As a team, CPP has earned the highest field-goal percentage in the conference with an impressive 46.1%. CPP's average of 16.8 assists per game also leads the category while
Lauren Goecke and
Tyler Woods lead the way, averaging 4.4 and 3.9 per game.
After the Torodome on Friday, the Broncos move on to the Eagles Nest as they take on the Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
CSULA will be coming off of a game against UC San Diego. Currently the Golden Eagles hold a 5-7 overall mark on the season, complete with a 4-4 mark in the CCAA.
Military Appreciation NightOn Friday, Jan. 23, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos will host a Military Appreciation Night at Kellogg Gym. At that evening's doubleheader against Humboldt State, anyone with current and prior military service will receive: free admission, Broncos' Megaphone, hot dog and soda. Military Appreciation Night is being sponsored by the CPP Veterans Resource Center and Pieology in Walnut.
