Drisdom Selected in NBA D-League Draft

POMONA, Calif. - On Saturday in the NBA D-League Draft, former Cal Poly Pomona basketball star Terrence Drisdom was selected by the Santa Cruz Warriors in the sixth round as the 102nd overall pick.

The defending D-League champions, the Santa Cruz Warriors are an affiliate of the 2015 NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

Drisdom is familiar with championships as well after leading the Broncos' men's basketball program to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) tournament title in March. He is the second player in CPP program history to be selected in the D-League Draft.

Drisdom and the Santa Cruz Warriors will play their season opener on Nov. 13 with a home game against the Bakersfield Jam. The Warriors play their home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz.
After arriving on campus as a freshman in 2010, Drisdom went on to earn All-American Accolades in both his junior and senior seasons. The Corona native was the first player in program history to earn an All-American honor in two different seasons.

Drisdom was selected as the CCAA Player of the Year while also earning All-West Region First Team honors. Drisdom's All-American First Team selection was from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) while his All-American Second Team recognition came from the Basketball Times publication.

A two-time CCAA Player of the Week in 2014-15, Drisdom ranked second in the league for scoring (16.5 points per game), first in minutes (995), first in field goals made (180), first in steals (80), first in free throws made (124), fourth in blocks (24) and fifth in total rebounds (189). He also helped the Broncos rank No. 2 nationally in defense for Division II.

After CPP topped Chico State in Stockton to capture the CCAA tournament title, Drisdom was named to the All-Tournament Team. In helping the Broncos reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Drisdom scored a career-high 31 points in the season's final game - a 77-67 loss to Azusa Pacific. He also received All-Tournament honors for the West Region postseason.

Drisdom totaled 80 steals in the 2014-15 campaign, ranking second among the CPP single-season records. Through his career, he collected 187 steals - also at No. 2 on the Broncos' all-time leaderboard.
