WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Five members of the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball program have received Winter All-Academic honors, California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) officials announced last week.

The CCAA Winter All-Academic recipients included Mian Dingle, Lauren Goecke, Erin Hagan, Jordan Henry and Ariel Marsh.

The Broncos' women's basketball team earned its way into the NCAA Division II West Region Tournament as a strong finish to an impressive season. CPP received the No. 7 seed in the region and advanced to the West title game in Anchorage, Alaska. The final national poll from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) featured the Broncos at No. 20.

In the conference's academic awards announcement last week, a combined total of 52 men's and women's basketball student-athletes were named to their respective CCAA All-Academic teams.
 
This year marks the first in which the CCAA has recognized individuals for their academic achievements per-season. In the fall, 263 men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, and women's soccer, and women's volleyball were named to their respective teams. Baseball, softball, and track & field will be recognized at the conclusion of their 2015 seasons of competition.
 
All athletes named to the 2014-15 CCAA Winter All-Academic team met the following criteria:

1) Student-athletes shall be of sophomore athletic standing or higher, and may include graduate students.
2) Student-athletes must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA or better.
3) Student-athletes must have competed in a Conference-sponsored sport in that season.
