POMONA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team seeks to rebound off of its first loss of the 2015-16 season on Thursday when they host the Stanislaus State Warriors at 7:30 p.m. at Kellogg Arena.

The No. 7 Broncos' record currently sits at 12-1 overall complete with a 5-1 record in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play. The Warriors enter play with a record of 4-2 in the CCAA and 5-6 overall.

This is the first matchup between the two teams this season. Last year, CPP defeated Stan State in both contests. They earned a 60-57 victory at Kellogg Arena and a 77-48 victory in Turlock. The all-time record between the two sits at 27-8 in the Green and Gold's favor.

Looking at the conference standings, the Broncos are locked in a four-way tie for first place with the Humboldt State Jacks, No. 17 UC San Diego Tritons, and the No. 20 Chico State Wildcats. Each of those teams is 5-1 in CCAA play. Just behind them all with a 4-2 record is Cal State San Marcos and Stanislaus State.

CPP will remain at home for another matchup against the Chico State Wildcats on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's game against Chico State will mark Heroes Night for Bronco athletics as Police, Fire and Military personnel will receive free admission as a thanks for the selflessness of their actions and the services provided.

The No. 20 Wildcats will head to Kellogg Arena after they take on the Jacks of Humboldt State on Thursday. The Wildcats' record currently sits at 11-2 overall complete with a 5-1 CCAA record.

Last season, Chico State won two of the three matchups between them and the Green and Gold. They won 51-50 in Pomona and 60-52 in Chico, but the Green and Gold defeated them in the CCAA Championship game 62-57 to claim the conference tournament title.

Leading the Broncos offensively is senior forward
Jordan Faison. Faison is averaging 18.9 points per game. Sophomore guard
Jeremy Dennis is second on the team, averaging 10.9 respectively.

The No.1 rated defense in Division II is led by Faison who is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. Senior guard
Barry Bell leads the team in steals with 1.6 a game. CPP leads the nation, allowing an average of two full points less than the second-ranked team.

Next week, the Green and Gold hit the road to challenge the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and then will head to Carson to challenge the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.Â
