Broncos Start Busy Week on Tuesday at CSUSB

POMONA, Calif. – With just two days away from competition, the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team will start a busy week on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. road match at Cal State San Bernardino.

It will mark the second time in a 10-day span that the Broncos challenge the nationally-ranked Coyotes this season.

Then on Friday, CPP begins a four-match homestand with a 7 p.m. contest against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The first 100 students will receive a free tumbler courtesy of University Housing Services. On Saturday, the Broncos will play their "Dig for a Cure" match with Cal State L.A. In support of breast cancer awareness, all fans are encouraged to wear pink.

This past weekend, CPP battled with Cal State San Marcos and UC San Diego in a pair of road matches. Despite 3-1 losses in both contests, the Broncos received impressive contributions from a number of players.

Deanna Blaine totaled 27 kills through the two matches, posting a .280 attack percentage on Friday and a .231 mark on Saturday. Alexandra Gresham dominated against the Tritons, collecting 19 kills with a .364 hitting percentage.

Freshman libero Amanda Jaramillo put together a pair of breakout performances, tallying 20 digs on Friday and then earning 25 on Saturday. An Orange native, Jaramillo graduated from Mater Dei High School this past summer.

Although CPP has played just three matches so far in 2016, the Broncos will play six of their final nine contests at Kellogg Arena.
