Broncos Score Season High in 80-59 Rout of CSU Monterey Bay

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team had no trouble finding offense on Friday night as they scored a season high against Cal State Monterey Bay, winning 80-59 on the road for their second straight California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) victory.

The Broncos (10-8, 8-4 CCAA) were led Jordyn Shane who was perfect on the night, going 8-of-8 from the field and five-of-five from the free throw line. She tallied a season high 21 points and added six assists in just 20 minutes of play.

Three other Broncos scored double-digits in points with Priscilla Brooks scoring 17 points, Dominique Dotson scoring 14 points and Chelsea Waddy-Blow finishing with 11 points. Brooks and Waddy Blow both finished with a double-double, adding 11 and 10 rebounds respectively.

The Broncos jumped out ahead early in the game, reaching a double digit lead midway through the first quarter. After two made free throws by Waddy-Blow, CPP held a 24-11 lead after the opening period.

Monterey Bay (4-15, 1-11 CCAA) played their best quarter in the second, outscoring the Broncos 17-12. Jessie Evans led the Otters with 17 points while McKenna Hill finished with 16 points.

With their lead cut to 40-36 in the third quarter, the Broncos executed a 14-0 run to pull away from Monterey for good.

Also contributing for the Broncos were Jackie Ricketson with seven points and three rebounds while Casey McWilliam finished 2-of-5 from three-point range for six points.

The Broncos return to action tomorrow night at Cal State East Bay as they look to repeat their previous encounter in which CPP won 50-44 at home. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
