ARCATA – The Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team concluded the California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season on Saturday night, sweeping Humboldt State on the road 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.
With the win, the Broncos improve to 13-12 overall on the year and 9-8 in the CCAA.
In what was easily their most dominating performance of the season, the Broncos notched a team attacking percentage of .299, while holding Humboldt to a mark of .017.
Alex Gresham led the Broncos offensively, tallying 12 kills on only 18 swings for a hitting percentage of .667. Following her was
Kristen Hamlin with 10 kills.
The Broncos jumped out to an early 9-3 lead in the opening set before pulling even farther away with an 11-3 run to take the first set.
Samantha Figueroa led the backline for the Broncos, registering 19 digs while
Andrea Bosnic finished with 13 digs and five kills.
In the second set, CPP tallied 15 points to HSU's five, sinking the Lumberjacks as the Broncos took a 2-0 lead.
Aline Smith collected a match high 37 assists in her final collegiate match while
Jenna Goldsberry added 10 digs and six kills.
The third and final set started out much closer before another 11-3 run allowed the Broncos to break away once again, securing the sweep to end the season.
