SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team led from start to finish, blasting host Cal State Monterey Bay, 82-48, on Thursday night at the Otter Sports Center in Seaside.
The Broncos (11-5) have won four straight, rising to 9-5 in the CCAA and pulling into a tie for third place in the conference standings with Humboldt State (15-7, 9-5 CCAA). The Otters fall to 1-18 (1-13 CCAA).
Even before CSUMB could blink, CPP sprinted out to a 16-2 lead in the first four minutes of the contest, 11 points coming from
Jordan Ogundiran in that span. Ogundiran finished the night with 17 points. The Broncos' lead would remain in double-digits the rest of the night, shooting 45.2 percent from the floor (28 of 62), hitting six three-pointers and missing just one of 21 free throws, a 95.2 percent clip.
Dwight Ramos came off the bench to provide a team-high 18 points in 23 minutes of action, adding seven rebounds to his final numbers.
William Christmas scored 12 points and corralled eight boards for CPP.
Cal Poly Pomona heads to Hayward on Saturday to face Cal State East Bay. Tipoff from Pioneer Gymnasium is set for 3:00 pm.
