LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Jimmie Villalobos wasted no time scoring his 18th goal of the season, burying a shot from the near endline into the right side of the net just 2:59 into the contest as the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team captured a 1-0 victory over UC San Diego in the CCAA Tournament semifinals on Friday in La Jolla.
The No. 2 seed Broncos (12-4-2) advances to their third straight CCAA championship match and will take on the winner of the current game between No. 1 Cal State LA and No. 4 Cal State San Bernardino. The No. 3 seed Tritons fall to 14-5-0.
