CPP scored the first goal of the match with 2:41 on the clock after a through-ball from
Taylor Scott found Larkin for the score.
In the 38th minute, Point Loma's Rachel Carrell took a shot from the left wing, which was blocked out of bounds by Bronco goalkeeper
Sydney Williams. On the proceeding corner kick, Abbi Swanson found Carrell at the near post, and she headed the ball in for the score.
The match would remain tied at 1-1 until PLNU was able to track down a ball deep in the corner in the 58th minute. A cross along the mouth of the goal found Hailey Clifford, who raced to the back pole and kneed the pass into the net for the go-ahead score.
The Sea Lions' Julia Glaser would extend the lead to 3-1 with an insurance goal in the 68th minute. The two-time first team All-PacWest selection collected a loose ball about 28 yards from the goal. Glaser turned and fired an arching shot that snuck over the hands of Williams and under the crossbar for what eventually became the final 3-1 score.
The Broncos outshot the Sea Lions 13-11, but PLNU had the advantage in shots on goal (8-5). Williams made five saves between the posts while her counterpart, PLNU's Emma Hinson, made four saves.
