POMONA -- Jazminn Parrish scored a team-high 13 kills, but the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team was swept by visiting Chaminade (25-22, 25-16, 27-25) to wrap up day two of the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase Friday at Kellogg Arena in Pomona.
The Broncos fall to 2-4 on the season while the Silverswords improved to 5-1.
After falling behind 2-0 in the match, CPP made things interesting at the end of the third set, forcing six ties and three lead changes, one of the ties at 25-25, but Chaminade would go on to score the final two points to clinch the sweep.
Parrish was the only Bronco with double-digit kills,
Ally Wilder had the second-most with six as CPP hit just .080 as a team.
Mikayla Diamond had eight digs on defense and
Kira Zimmerman handed out 27 assists.
For Chaminade, Claire Zanon led the way with 10 kills, a .714 hitting percentage and 14 digs. The Silverswords hit .229 as a squad in the victory.
Cal Poly Pomona will wrap up the weekend with a 5:00 pm tilt against Hawaii Hilo at Kellogg Arena in Pomona.
