ARCATA, Calif. -- After losing the first set, the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team rebounded with wins in the next three sets to capture a 3-1 victory (24-26, 25-21, 27-25, 25-14) over host Humboldt State on Thursday night at Lumberjack Arena in Arcata.
It was the CCAA opener for the Broncos, who improve to 3-5 overall and open conference at 1-0. The Lumberjacks fall to 5-4 (1-1 CCAA).
Ally Wilder led the way with 20 kills, followed by 19 from
Jazminn Parrish while
Daisy Duke added seven.Â
Kira Zimmerman handed out 49 assists and was one dig shy of a double-double, tallying nine.Â
Mikayla Diamond led the defensive effort for the Broncos, recording 31 digs.
As a team, CPP hit .222 while holding the host Lumberjacks to .162 on the night. Humboldt was led offensively by Lexi Riggs and Lenox Loving, both with 13 kills.
Cal Poly Pomona will head south to take on Sonoma State on Saturday at The Wolves' Den. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
