LA MIRADA, Calif. — Cal Poly Pomona couldn't overcome a first-half goal, dropping a 1-0 loss to Biola University on the road Saturday night.
The Broncos slide to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Eagles remain undefeated on the young year at 3-0-0.
Despite CPP dominating the first half and out-shooting Biola 5-to-1, it was the Eagles who broke through. The home team got on the board in the 25
th minute, capitalizing off a Bronco foul.
CPP tried to find an equalizer before half, including a good look from Melvyn Cortez Perez in the 41
st minute, but the Eagle goalkeeper got a hand on it to push it wide.
The Broncos controlled more of the game, holding a 56-to-44 percent possession, but couldn't find the back of the net to end the game with the 1-0 loss.
Two games remain before CCAA action begins in October. The Broncos head up the freeway to take on Azusa Pacific next, kicking off on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
