No. 22 Broncos Clinch CCAA Berth On Dahl's 150th Career Win

ARCATA, Calif. – Head coach Traci Dahl notched her 150th career coaching victory as the 22nd-ranked Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team swept Cal Poly Humboldt (25-12, 25-16, 25-23) on Saturday evening at Lumberjack Arena in Arcata.

With the victory, the Broncos (18-5, 12-4 CCAA) clinch a berth into the 2022 CCAA Volleyball Tournament for the fourth time in program history. The six-team event is scheduled for Nov. 10-12 at Cal State San Marcos. The Lumberjacks, meanwhile, fell to 2-17 (1-15 CCAA).

CPP led from start to finish in the first two sets, earning convincing wins of 25-12 and 25-16 to take a 2-0 match lead. Host Cal Poly Humboldt wouldn't go down without a fight, though, on a night it would celebrate its seniors in a post-game ceremony. The Lumberjacks forced 12 ties and five lead changes, but it would be the nationally-ranked Broncos to emerge with the narrow 25-23 win to capture a sweep, their 11th this season.

Daisy Duke led all players with 13 kills as Kylie Brandt came off the bench to add nine with a solo block. Avery Percival led the way defensively with 18 digs, and Madison Novak recorded three blocks, two solo.

Cal Poly Humboldt received 10 kills from Lindsey McLaughlin and Kaitlyn Patterson matched Percival's dig total of 18 on the other side of the net.

Cal Poly Pomona will return home for its final two matches of the regular season, hosting San Francisco State at 5:00 pm on Friday before enjoying Senior Day against Cal State Monterey Bay at 2:00 pm Saturday.
