POMONA -- Cal Poly Pomona senior Imani Williams has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 21-27, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

At the Titus and Ely Invitational at Irvine on Saturday, Williams improved on her NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark in the long jump. This time she posted a meet-winning distance of 5.88 meters (19 feet, 3 ½ inches). The senior from Escondido extended her CCAA lead in the event and currently has the seventh best mark in NCAA Division II.

Williams also finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.43 seconds.

Last week, Williams was named the CCAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week when she posted the provisional mark of 5.85 meters in the long jump at the Franson Classic at Azusa Pacific.  This is also the fourth time in six weeks that a CPP women's field athlete has earned the award; teammate Ana Tovi has earned the same award twice already this season.

Cal Poly Pomona will split time this weekend in the Bay Area at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at San Francisco State and the Stanford Invitational at Stanford.
