IRVINE, Calif. -- In the meet before the CCAA Championships, Cal Poly Pomona gained momentum with some solid performances.

Ryan Fields won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.99 seconds, the only athlete clocking in under 14 seconds and just .07 seconds off his personal best.
Alessio Sommacal and
Nnamdi Onwaeze weren't far behind, taking third (14.41 seconds) and fourth (14.43 seconds), respectively.

Jaelen Craft took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at 54.13 seconds and
Kaelin Moore followed in sixth place at 55.61 seconds and
Derek Porter took ninth in 57.67 seconds.

Chris Razo took second in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 9:32.38.
Diego Duran clocked in 15:13.83 in the 5K, followed by
Alejandro Mariscal in 15:35.70.
Christian Coley crossed the 1500-meter finish line in 4:01.91.

The men's 4x100 relay team of
Bryce Bushnell,
Joshua Johnson, Sommacal and Smith took third with a time of 41.68 seconds.

Brandon Cruz led the Broncos in the 400-meter race with a time of 50.92 seconds, followed by
Kristian Kimberlin in 52.98. Johnson finished the 200-meter dash in 21.57 seconds, followed by Bushnell in 21.80 seconds.

Kailen Smith took third in the high jump after clearing 2.01 meters, while
Deandre Smith took ninth in the long jump after posting a mark of 6.87 meters.

Alejandro Sandoval-Guzman took eighth in the shot put with a mark of 15.77 meters. Alex Problosky followed with a toss of 14.69 meters.

Dominique Navarrette and Sandoval-Guzman were neck-and-neck in the discus. Navarrette threw for 49.63 meters and Sandoval-Guzman tossed 48.65 meters.
Aaron May finished with a 47.32-meter throw. May also posted a throw of 48.39 meters in the hammer, while Kai Redd threw the javelin for 43.91 meters.

Aaron Rodriguez finished sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.41 meters, followed by
Dylan Chung with a 4.26-meter vault.

The Broncos now turn their attention to the CCAA Championships, held at SF State May 5-7.
