ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Cal Poly Pomona's
Ryan Fields ran a 15.21 in the 110-meter Hurdles final on Saturday, finishing 11th to wrap up competition at the 2022 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
With the finish, Fields earns a Second Team All-America award in the event. He also captured Second Team All-America honors for finishing 11th in the preliminary race of the 400-meter Hurdles event on Thursday.
It wraps up an incredible season for Fields and the rest of the Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field team in 2022. The Broncos earned their first CCAA team championship since 1998, brought home four All-America awards, eight individual CCAA titles, 23 All-CCAA accolades, eight CCAA Track/Field Athletes of the Week nods, and head coach
Chris Bradford was named the CCAA Coach of the Year.
In the Top 10 Record books, two new school records were set in 2022 --
Ryan Fields broke the school record for the fastest time in the 400-meter Hurdles (51.25 at the Franson Classic in Azusa), and the 4x100 Relay team of
Bryce Bushnell,
Alessio Sommacal,
Joshua Johnson and
Deandre Smith set a new school record in that event (40.76 at the CCAA Championships in San Francisco). In all, 17 times/marks made it into the program's All-Time Top 10 Record Book this spring.
