Broncos Defeat Gators For Seventh Straight Win

SAN FRANCISCO – Three players enjoyed double-digit kills and the team hit at a blazing .348 clip as the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team won its seventh straight contest after a 3-1 win (25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19) over host San Francisco State on Saturday at The Swamp in San Francisco.

The Broncos improve to 7-1 on the year and a perfect 2-0 in the CCAA. The Gators fall to 4-5 (0-2 CCAA)

Daisy Duke again paced the offense with 17 kills and a .343 hitting percentage, while coming a dig short of a double-double. Samantha Campion scored 16 kills and 12 digs, and Madison Novak put down 15 kills as the trio combined for 48 of the team's 60 kills on Saturday.

The .348 clip was CPP's third-best offensive output of the season, thanks to the brilliant setting of Caitie Mueller and her 49 assists. Avery Percival and Jenna O'Shea checked in with three service aces from the line, and defensively, Mackenzie Sullivan led four Broncos in double-digit digs with a match-high 15.

Tamiya Wilson had 19 kills for San Francisco State, which was held to just .188 on offense.

Cal Poly Pomona will make its 2022 home debut Tuesday in a non-conference matchup with Azusa Pacific. First serve in Kellogg Arena is set for 6:00 pm.
