POMONA – Cal Poly Pomona hosted the Biola Eagles for a preseason matchup. Heading into the game the Broncos held an all-time record of 3-2-1 against the Eagles. CPP was the only team to score and won their third game of the season, 1-0.
It was in the 10
th minute of the match that forward
Paul Roger Henschke pushed the ball up field and found forward
Kevin Hernandez for the sole goal of the game. The Broncos continued to put the pressure on the Eagles as they went for 19 shots on the game.
Goalkeeper
CJ Walker collected two saves. The defensive line in
Fin Jackson,
Cesar Ruvalcaba,
Jasper Winslow, and
Thomas Guei worked together to collect CPP's third shutout of the season. The Broncos now hold an overall record of 3-0-1.
Midfielder
Mike Moser led the Broncos in attempts with five shots and one on goal. Henschke went for five shots and midfielder
Woody Angell took three shots of his own with one shot on goal.
"I'm very happy with our start to the season, we have played arguably the toughest schedule in the region so far" said coach
Matt O'Sullivan. "It doesn't get easier next week. I am very proud of how we dig-in when things don't go our way. Defensively we are much improved, and the goals will come very soon, as we are getting the chances."
Coach O'Sullivan continued "We look forward to Azusa Pacific on Wednesday. Two great programs and we hope to get a big crowd for that game here at home. It should be an exciting one."

th at 7:00 pm in Kellogg Stadium where they take on Azusa Pacific.
