Parm Scores 18 in Loss to Golden Eagles, 68-61

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos closed their road trip in Los Angeles against Cal State LA where freshman guard Shyheim Parm scored 18 points in the loss to the Golden Eagles, 68-61.
 
The Broncos close their road trip 0-2, taking their overall record to 9-8 and CCAA record to 6-7. The Golden Eagles are now 9-11 overall and 6-8 CCAA.
 
The Broncos took their largest lead of the game with two minutes left in the first half with the score 27-13 (14pts). CPP shot 11 of 25 from the floor three of which were from beyond the arc. The Broncos continue to share the ball as they scored 23 bench points against the Golden Eagles seven points from their bench. The second half closed with CPP in the lead, 29-22.
 
With 9:24 in the game, CSULA went on a 6-0 run to tie the game 42-42. Five ties would follow before the Golden Eagles took the lead for the last time with 6:09 left on the clock and the score, 49-48. CSULA continued to expand on their lead to win the game, 68-61.
 
Leading the Broncos in points was Parm who scored 18 points and had three rebounds and three assists on the game.
 
The Broncos' next game is Thursday, February 2nd as they take on the Cal State East Bay Pioneers in Hayward, with tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
