ALISO VIEJO, CA – Nine Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer student-athletes earned All-CCAA recognition on Wednesday, the most of any team in the CCAA.
Paul Roger Henschke and
Cesar Ruvalcaba were both named All-CCAA First Team, the third consecutive season that the pair was voted to the first team by the conference coaches. The two anchored both sides of the ball, as Henschke ranks Top 10 in the CCAA in goals, shots, assists, and points.
Melvyn Perez Cortez also repeated as a first team honoree, having done so in 2022 as well.
Ruvalcaba was named CCAA Defender of the Year. The senior from South Gate helped the Broncos allow only .765 goals per match as it led the CCAA and ranked seventh in the country with a plus-31 goal differential. Ruvalcaba played in every match, adding a goal and four assists as a defender.
Mads Frederiksen and
Jasper Winslow were both named All-CCAA Second Team, the first time either has earned All-CCAA recognition. The two had a combined nine goals and two assists on the season, Frederiksen with three game-winning goals and Winslow with two. Both were CCAA All-Academic in 2022-23.

CJ Walker,
Fin Jackson,
Woody Angell, and
Max Laguna were all named Honorable Mentions. Walker earned Second Team All-CCAA honors last season, while the remaining three each earn the honor for the first time.
The No. 6 ranked Broncos look to carry their success into the postseason, first with the CCAA Tournament followed by the NCAA Tournament. Having been ranked No. 3 in the latest regional rankings, the Broncos are expecting to hear their name called during the NCAA Selection Show this Monday, November 13
th, at 4:00 PM PST on NCAA.com.
