11/16/2023 2:20:00 PM

POMONA, CA – Six members of the Cal Poly Pomona women's volleyball team earned All-CCAA honors, it was announced Wednesday morning.  Their six honorees ties the program record for most in a season, after six were also recognized by the conference in 2021 – both teams led by head coach Traci Dahl. Seniors Daisy Duke and Kaitlan Tucker were members of both teams, earning First Team and Honorable Mention, respectively, in both years.

Daisy Duke repeated as First Team All-CCAA for the third consecutive season, adding to her historic Cal Poly Pomona resume. This year, Duke ranks Top 10 in the CCAA in kills (297), kills per set (3.76), hitting percentage (.322), and second in points per set (4.51). This past week, the senior was named CCAA Player of the Week for the eighth time in her career, as well as AVCA DII National Player of the Week for the second time in her career. She also ranks 5th all-time in kills with 1,213 in her career.

Samantha Campion joined Duke as an All-CCAA First Team honoree, her first time earning the award after being named an honorable mention last season. Campion is arguably the biggest dual threat in the conference, leading the Broncos with 336 kills on attack while ranking second on the team defensively with 284 digs. She also ranks fourth on the team with 49.0 blocks and second with 34 service aces on the season. Campion has recorded both double-digit kills and double-digit digs in an impressive 13 games this season.

Juniors Caitie Mueller and Madison Novak were named All-CCAA Second Team, Novak earning back-to-back second team honors while Mueller was named first team last season. Mueller has proven to be one of the best setters in the country, currently ranking second in the CCAA in both total assists (972) and assists per set (10.57), the latter also ranking 21st in all of NCAA Division II. Mueller's 10.45 career assists-per-set would rank second in CPP history once she meets the minimum threshold. Novak has been a key threat in the Broncos' attack all season, sitting just one kill behind Duke with 296. The Lancaster native has 17 games with double-digit kills this season, the most coming against Cal State East Bay on September 16th when she racked up a career-high 23 kills.

The trio of Duke, Campion, and Novak have a combined 929 kills this season, each ranking in the Top 200 in the nation. The big three each rank Top 150 in Division II in kills per set, together averaging 10.63 per set.

Avery Percival and Kaitlan Tucker rounded out the six All-CCAA honorees, both being named an Honorable Mention. This is Tucker's third conference award, having been named honorable mention in 2021 and second team in 2022. The senior leads the Broncos with 77.0 blocks on the season and recently cracked the CPP Top 10 in career block solos with 58. Tucker has swung a career-best .352 this season, improving her career average to .307 - which ranks fourth all-time in school history. Percival picked up her first all-conference honor, leading the team with 369 digs on defense. Her 4.01 digs per set also ranks fifth in the CCAA. In 2022, Percival collected 404 digs, which ranked 10th most in a season in CPP history. Should the Broncos make a deep run in the postseason in the next few weeks, Percival will look to pass that mark once again.
