Alicia Jones have been selected to the 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Conference Team, as voted on by the league's coaches and announced Tuesday afternoon.
Bates captured First Team All-CCAA honors for the second straight season and Jones earned a Second Team All-CCAA nod in her first season in the Green and Gold.
Ally Bates, a native of Melbourne, Australia, led the Broncos in scoring again this season, averaging 14.1 points per game, which is the seventh-highest output in the CCAA. She has made 63 three-pointers, which is now seventh-best in a single season in program history and has broken into the Top 10 for most three-pointers made in a CPP career with 105. Now a two-time First Team selection for CPP, Bates has appeared and started in all 49 games over the last two seasons, scoring 13.3 points per contest.
Alicia Jones, from Modesto, Calif., was the Broncos' second-leading scorer this season, posting 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds a game as a starter in all 26 for CPP this season.
Cal Poly Pomona (16-9) captured the No. 4 seed in the 2023 CCAA Women's Basketball Tournament and will face No. 5 seed Chico State (18-10) in the First Round on Thursday at Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock. Tip off is set for 8:00 pm.
The Broncos will be making their 26th all-time appearance in the conference postseason tournament, and for the 11th time under head coach
Danelle Bishop. CPP is 30-14 all-time in the event and has won the tournament 11 times.
