Pomona Blanks Humboldt 4-0 in Cal Poly Clash

POMONA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona delivered a dominant performance in the Cal Poly Clash, defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 4-0. With the win, the Broncos improved to 7-3-4 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play.

The Broncos struck first in the 9th minute when Clement Badger scored, assisted by Daniel Gutierrez and Marvin Gamez. Badger's early goal set the tone, allowing Pomona to control possession and dictate the pace. Marvin Gamez added a second goal in the 43rd minute, giving the Broncos a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half, Pomona continued to dominate. Miguel Gonzalez extended the lead to 3-0 in the 54th minute, and Andres Gutierrez capped the scoring in the 88th minute. The goals highlighted a team effort, with multiple players contributing to the offensive push and keeping Humboldt on the back foot throughout the match.

Marvin Gamez led the Broncos offensively with one goal and one assist, while Clement Badger and Miguel Gonzalez each scored to keep the attack flowing. Andres Gutierrez also contributed with a goal, providing additional support in the midfield. Defensively, Jack Chapman made five crucial saves to secure a clean sheet, and Kaden Gust made his first collegiate appearance in goal during the final minutes.

Overall, Cal Poly Pomona controlled the match in shots, corners, and possession. The Broncos registered 22 shots with 13 on goal, compared to Humboldt's nine shots with five on target.
