POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona volleyball continued its impressive conference run with a decisive 3-1 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt in their Dig Pink match on Saturday evening at Kellogg Arena. The Broncos improved to 14-4 overall and an undefeated 12-0 in CCAA play, and with Cal State LA's loss to Dominguez Hills, have taken a two-game lead in the conference standings. The win also clinched the Broncos a berth into the CCAA Tournament, making them the first team to secure a spot in the championship event to be held in Turlock next month.

Elle Walker led the offensive charge with 20 kills on a .371 hitting percentage, marking a career-high for the promising redshirt freshman from Brentwood. Walker currently ranks Top 10 in the CCAA in both kills per set (3.33) and points per set (3.52).
Charlotte Koerber added 11 kills and nine digs, while both middle blockers
Anastacia Garza and
Alexia Athans chipped in seven kills a piece with a combined five blocks.

Kacie Caoili logged 40 assists on the night, her fourth consecutive match eclipsing that total and her eighth time doing so this season. Caoili continues to lead the CCAA in assists per set by a wide margin, having 10.57 on the season with the next closest being 8.86 per set. The true freshman from San Jose has been building an impressive resume to potentially be named the conference's setter of the year.

Cal Poly Pomona opened the match with a blistering .407 hitting clip in the first set, fueled by a seven-point serving run from Caoili, who finished with a match-high four aces, and six kills from Walker that put the Broncos firmly in control, winning the first set 25-14. After dropping a tightly contested second set, 23-25, Pomona responded with precision. The Broncos stormed through the third, hitting .464 and limiting Humboldt to just .107, as CPP ended on an 11-2 run to close out the set at 25-11.

The fourth set saw CPP maintain its rhythm, with Walker logging seven more kills to close out the match, 25-14. Defensively, senior
Kaden Young posted a season-high 26 digs, her most since her freshman season at Sonoma State, while freshman
Amelia Bonnema made her collegiate debut with five kills and three blocks on a .250 hitting percentage.

With two wins over the Lumberjacks this season, CPP volleyball has now claimed the full point over Humboldt.
