The match began with high energy from the Broncos, who wasted no time putting pressure on the Gator defense. In the seventh minute, Vanessa Cruz opened the scoring with a composed finish, giving Cal Poly Pomona an early 1-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, Cruz turned provider when she assisted Ally Henry in the eighth minute. Henry calmly slotted home her shot to double the lead and give the Broncos full control of the match.

On the defensive end, the Broncos were rock-solid, limiting San Francisco State to just five shots and no corner kicks across the full 90 minutes.
