POMONA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer tied Cal State LA 1-1 in its final regular season CCAA home matchup of the year. The result moves the Broncos to 13-1-3 overall and 6-1-3 in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, the Broncos controlled much of the play, recording six shots and earning five corner kicks. Despite the early pressure, the match remained even heading into halftime as Cal State LA's defense and goalkeeper held firm against several strong chances from
Marisa Salazar and
Kiarra D'Arcangelo.
Early in the second half, Cal State LA took the lead in the 47th minute, but Cal Poly Pomona kept pressing for an equalizer. The Broncos' persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when
Liberty Ortiz scored to bring the match level at 1-1. In the 82nd minute,

Jenna Tetrault finished with two saves in goal, anchoring a disciplined defensive effort that held Cal State LA to just four shots. Salazar led the offense with three shots, while D'Arcangelo added two. Cal Poly Pomona ended the match with a 9-4 advantage in total shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
